Chapter Seventeen

“Mianca, would you please sit your ass down somewhere. You’re starting to make me nauseated,” Mia said as she rubbed her protruding stomach.

“I’m sorry. You know how I get when I’m upset. I don’t know what to do. Part of me wants to leave, but the other part of me wants to save my marriage. I haven’t had any issues with Isaiah and another woman since you.”

Mia rolled her eyes at Mianca. She didn’t even see a reason for her to have to bring that up.

“Let’s not rehash history right now, especially since Dante is right upstairs from us. I’m not trying to work on husband number three,” Mia said seriously.

“I’m sorry. I know we left that in the past. It’s just I don’t know how to handle this. I can’t phantom Isaiah not wanting me anymore.”

“Well, I chose not to interrogate you Saturday because it was fresh, but it’s been two days, so I want to know. Who the hell was that bitch?”

“Mia, honestly I have no idea. I’ve never seen her before.”

“Well, has Isaiah been acting strange or given you any indication that he had been cheating?”

“No, well there was this one time when you were in your coma, but I eventually dismissed it because I didn’t have proof.”

“What happened that day?”

“Well, one Isaiah went out to the club and I had been calling his phone all night to make sure that he made it home safely, but he never answered my calls or text messages. I left the hospital around seven that morning and headed home to go check on him. When I got to the house, he wasn’t there. A few hours later he showed up at the house and when he saw my face he looked like he was about to have a heart attack. The nigga had the nerve to ask me what I was doing there. Anyway he claimed that he had been too drunk to drive, so he spent the night with one of his guys, which I know was lie because the friend he said he was with would drink all of us under the table and never drives himself to a club.”

Mia reached out to squeeze Mianca’s shoulders as she watched a lone tear fall from her eye.

“Being who I am though I gave Isaiah the benefit of the doubt even though deep down inside I knew he was lying. He didn’t try to kiss me or have sex even though the night before he was begging me to come home for it. Instead, he went straight to the shower then went with me to the hospital to visit you while I sat there like a good quiet wife. I guess I left it alone because I thought whatever he had done was a one-time thing because he was feeling neglected at home. After that, I started spending less time at the hospital and more time at home with my husband. He was always at home on time, and we were back to having sex on a regular, so I don’t even known when he had time to cheat.
